As part of the restoration work we did for the construction of the Renaissance Providence Hotel
in Providence, Rhode Island, Architectural Iron Company took the pieces of the sole remaining
steel and cast iron spandrel panel and created seventeen new ones. Scroll down for more...

The above photo shows Architectural Iron Company's reconstruction of
the only components left of one of seventeen original spandrel panels.

 
Architectural Iron Company then created and submitted this shop drawing for approval,
which incorporated a simple but foolproof system for hanging these panels,
each of which is 5'-4 1/2" x 4'-5 1/2" and weights 519 pounds.
Here a complete spandrel panel hangs in our fabricating shop before being packed up for shipment.
After installation, the project engineer e-mailed us: "They are all hung, they all
fit great and the owner loves the way they look. Thank you for all your help!!!".
